This shot of the Harvest Moon was one of those “in the right spot at the right time shot”. I had just walked out the door to get the mail and was greeted with this view. Thankfully I had a charged battery and a camera inside the door. All-in-all, I took about 30 shots, trying to get a good balance between pulling out the foreground and getting some of the detail of the moon’s surface. If you’ve never photographed the moon while trying to frame it with a terrestrial object, you would be amazed at how quickly it shoots up into the sky. Photo was taken on Sept. 23, 2010 at dusk with Nikon D-1 and a Nikor 500mm f-4.
WOW, VERY NICE!!!!
