This scenic overlook of the valley where the Big Thompson River runs is along the route I take each day to and from the office. The shot is facing towards the south at about 7:15 a.m. on September 19. The sun had just broke over the horizon and quickly burned off the fog bank lying in the valley. I would imagine had I been 10 minutes earlier, there wouldn’t have been much to see. The photo of Longs Peak was taken about 5 minutes prior and just east of this location. The fog bank is clearly visible on the ridge of the valley.
